The Challenge

German recycling facilities experience an alarming number of fires every day—as many as 30. Roughly every ten days, one escalates into a major fire.

The financial damage and wider consequences are immense:

  • annual fire-related losses of around one billion euros
  • insurance premiums rise sharply—or fire-risk coverage is withdrawn entirely
  • severe disruption to operations
  • authorities and neighboring communities may even call for facilities to be shut down
  • significant environmental and climate impact

Detecting smoldering fires early—even outside operating hours—is
a major challenge for recycling facilities.

The Solution

Our modular system offers maximum flexibility across a wide range of applications.

Installed as a stationary solution, it can continuously monitor particularly critical areas, both indoors and outdoors.

Our proprietary detection module and specially trained two-stage AI identify smoldering fires earlier within material stockpiles.

Existing on-site sensors can also be integrated to further improve accuracy.

The module is platform-independent, meaning it can be deployed as a stationary system or mounted on mobile platforms such as drones.

Outside operating hours, one or more drones automatically survey the entire outdoor storage area at short intervals. This allows even large areas to be monitored dynamically.

Early fire detection makes it possible to initiate firefighting measures before flashover develops into a fully involved fire. This helps prevent extensive damage.

How Warden Robotics Works

  • The hangar is installed on a rooftop or open ground
  • Warden Robotics software is integrated with your control center
  • Drone routes are defined based on potential hazards and obstacles
  • In the event of a fire, the control center and designated personnel are alerted
